Like most of James Patterson's recent books, this one should not have ever seen the light of day. I've read most, if not all, of his adult fiction books and ever since he started co-authoring books, the quality of the writing has deteriorated. I blame the publishers for allowing this to go to print and for grabbing an easy buck off of his name and reputation (general rant over). The plot of this book is so unbelievable as to be laugh out loud funny in parts. Without spoilers, it involves a homicide detective who "moonlights" as a celebrity chef of a food truck. When terror strikes the city, our protagonist has time to have an affair and whip up a mean po boy before saving the day. The only redeeming feature is the New Orleans setting and constant discussion of food. Save your time and find a better book.
