I thought Magnate was a story of how a blue-blooded woman defied all odds and started her own company...so why was it dominated by over-the-top angst, miscommunications, and ridiculous trust-issue situations? I always love reading about self-made men and women, but Emmett was different. It might be indelicate to say this but his reactions and behavior made him seem more of an animal than a ruthless, multimillionaire 'steel king'. It's a shame but I really think the book could've been something more than tolerable, had it been written a little less like a bodice-ripper.
