Highlight tracks include "I Can Change", "Good Kisser", "Red Light Kisses", and "You Are Free"
"Named after a Minneapolis, Minnesota (Olson's hometown) street known for its numerous "dive bars," Lake Street Dive initially drew fans with covers of songs by such influences as Hall & Oates, George Michael, Fleetwood Mac, and more. Over time, they began writing their own material, drawing praise for their soulful, stylistically varied sound." Artist Biography by Steve Leggett
"Having honed their skills studying jazz at the New England Conservatory of Music, the members of Lake Street Dive are supremely talented performers who balance their respective strengths throughout the album. In fact, although she's often in the background on-stage, bassist Bridget Kearney (who released her own solo album in 2017) is responsible for writing almost half of the album's songs, and earns co-writes on several more. Many of her compositions display a subtle yet incisive feminist energy that helps lend the band a uniquely personal perspective." AllMusic Review by Matt Collar

Lake Street Dive's newest album "Free Yourself Up" is the band's 5th record in 8 years. Through it all, the band has offered smooth soulful rock that satisfies. "Free Yourself Up" is no different. There are a few tracks that rise higher than the rest, such as "Good Kisser," "I Can Change," and "Dude." But that's not to say that the rest of the album isn't good. It is. But it doesn't shine as brightly as its highest points.
