Even the name Pecan Springs comforts my mind, and the herb shop, the crystal cave, and the tea room are all places I would love hang out in. This time murder, fraud, and whistle-blowers fall on China Bayle's doorstep, and lead her to perilous discoveries. Even Mcquaid, her P.I. hubby, seems to be on a secret and dangerous mission. All the folk we've met before enrich this tale. Recipes include blood orange liqueur and granite.

Another page turning mystery in the China Bayles series.

I have read them all. This one cites extensively from Amy Stewart's "The Drunken Botanist," which sits on my cookbook shelf. That's good. I will keep reading the series, though I am impatient with the story line threads that have Ruby with magical powers of foretelling the future. Yuk. And I did not appreciate it when China totally departed from rationality (spoiler alert?). So, "3", not "4".
