From the legendary New York Times bestselling author of Only a Kiss and Only a Promise comes the final book in the rapturous Survivor's Club series--as the future of one man lies within the heart of a lost but never-forgotten love...

For the first time since the death of his wife, the Duke of Stanbrook is considering remarrying and finally embracing happiness for himself. With that thought comes the treasured image of a woman he met briefly a year ago and never saw again.

Dora Debbins relinquished all hope to marry when a family scandal left her in charge of her younger sister. Earning a modest living as a music teacher, she's left with only an unfulfilled dream. Then one afternoon, an unexpected visitor makes it come true.

For both George and Dora that brief first encounter was as fleeting as it was unforgettable. Now is the time for a second chance. And while even true love comes with a risk, who are two dreamers to argue with destiny?

Review excerpt: "Sometimes a book just makes me sit back and sigh a happy sigh. 'Only Beloved' is one of those books. It left me in an unexpected and rare place of peacefulness. Every time I think about it I feel calm – not bored, not “meh,” not analytical, but truly, happily, peacefully calm. This book is the culmination of a series in which people learn to come to terms with trauma, and it’s a lovely, gentle conclusion to a series that has been challenging, affirming, and oh, yeah, super sexy too. 'Only Beloved' is the final book of the 'Survivor’s Club' series."

I enjoyed this book. It is filled with redemption and people finding kindness and love despite what they endured in the past. The main characters were likeable and kind. I found credibility stretched near the end, won't go into detail or will reveal too much plot. But a pleasant read overall.

Good, but not Balogh's best. It very much felt like a 'wrap up the series' kind of book. However, two thumbs up for a rare occurrence in a historical: leads that are in their late 30s and 40s. The story is entertaining, but you'll probably enjoy it more if you've read the rest of the Survivors' Club series.

This is the ending book of a series. I recommend not reading it without having read others in the series. At times it is slow but it has value.

p 201 George: But sometimes I believe, when one asks a question from one's deepest need and waits for an answer without straining too desperately to invent it, the answer comes, seemingly from nowhere.
