I wanted to get into the book and I tried to, but nothing ever really seemed to happen. I got about 60 pages in and gave up. I even opened the book to a random page further in and still nothing was really happening. So, I returned all the books.

Now, yes I know we had the first scene in the prologue and that was sad. Then, we had Jack who (supposedly) threw the bully into the goal with the ball. Without even touching him. However, none of those scenes had any real action. It was just nothing....

Anyway, I see a lot of other people were entertained by the book so, maybe you (the reader of this review) will be. In my opinion though, I was not impressed.

I've got admit, this was a very interesting book! I learned a little bit about Medieval Culture even though it's mostly fictional. Did anyone else find this a little similar to Game of Thrones? I feel like this is a smaller version of it. I totally ship Hastings and Linda! My favorite part was the twist in the plot, when Jack Swift's opponent was revealed to be Ellen Stephenson.

It's a good book with all the twists and turns, but the ending doesn't sound like there is another part to it. It is just a happy ending for all with no more conflicts

It was a good book. I like the twists. I also agree that the ending was a little confusing.

It was a good books, though not the best and no where near as good as Chima's Seven Realms series for anyone who hasn't read it yet!!!!!!!
But overall this was a good book with a good plot and some decent characters, some harder to like than others....

This was a pretty good fantasy book. Not the best, but it was good.

The characters were well rounded and the overall plot was interesting. The rules of the magical world and all the magical guilds were unique.

It's worth reading!

Sixteen year old Jack Swift is a normal high schooler. He head heart problems when he was a baby and had to have surgery. In surgery, a wizard implanted a warrior stone in him, instead of a what he was suppose to get- a wizard stone. Jack is now a warrior, but he doesn't know until he finds a sword named Shadowslayer. He gets trained in the art of warrior and wizardry. His trainer tricks Jack into participating in the Game, a competition to the death for warriors to win power for the two wizard houses- The White Rose and the Red Rose. Jack's trainer, Hastings, creates a new house called the Silver Dragon. This book is filled with amazing twists and turns you will never see coming, so I'm not gonna type the ending. Enjoy reading it!
