Down to earth and easy to read but probably aimed more to an urban rather than rural audience. The lists of plants for various situations are helpful.

This is just my opinion but the whole book rubbed me the wrong way - maybe it was not titled correctly.

I was looking for a book that gave thrifty gardening tips not one that told me I was a jerk for putting Christmas tree lights in my tree p136

Some of the tips are valid but if you are a gardener of any length of time or have read the more mainstream books of Lois Hole or Frankie Flowers then you are set.

Lots of great information form the delightfully opinionated Ms Harris.
