Directed by journalist and filmmaker Avi Lewis, produced in conjunction with Naomi Klein's bestselling book of the same name, and filmed over 211 shoot days in nine countries and five continents over four years, the film presents seven portraits of communities on the front lines. Throughout the film, Klein builds to her most controversial and exciting idea: that we can seize the existential crisis of climate change to transform our failed economic system into something radically better.

Overall, I gained some knowledge from this film. I was disappointed that the scope was so narrow and really only focused on carbon emissions. Nothing about animal agriculture which scientists claim is the leading cause of climate change, nothing about the ecosystem destruction, species destruction such as the polar bear becoming extinct. Naomi Klein says in the film that she feels no compassion for the polar bear, she actually never mentioned any other species except for humans. That is extremely narrow minded in my opinion, since we are meant to share this planet with all the species on it. The First Nations people seem to be the people who recognize the complete picture-if you take from the land you give back to the land, respect all life and tread lightly on the earth. The filmed stated that through Capitalism, the rich get richer, the middle class are declining, and the poverty stricken people are increasing due to Capitalist greed.
