While reading this book in the Inspector Montalbano series I found out that the author, Andrea Camilleri, had died on July 17th. I, for one, will miss his storytelling, humour and bravery. RIP Mr. Camilleri.

This must be one of the most beautifully crafted detective characters in current fiction. I love the writing, I love the setting, I love the humanity and I love the hman weaknesses.

It doesn't matter what order you read these in, they are all terrific. You may have seen theTV series. for me I see the scenes set in the television series asthe writing unfolds.
