This book was all right. Like some other Warhammer 40K novels, this one is not well suited for beginners to universe, theres some background info and legacy knowledge that would be nice to have.

I enjoyed it, but probably only because I'm a pretty big 40K fan boi and gave it an extra half star/whole star simply due to my rose colored glasses. It was probably more medicore than my 3 and a half stars indicates.

Good action actually, but not much in the way of character development. Some of the dialogue was really grating too- multiple different Imperial Fists talked super cheesy, and the boasting and bragging by the Astartes at the expense of tactical and or thoughtful dialogue actually became distracting and weird. But worth checking this book out if you are a big fan like me.
