It's a hot, hot summer, and in the depths of the Toronto Transit Authority's Lost and Found, 17-year-old Duncan is cataloging lost things and sifting through accumulated junk. And between Jacob, the cranky old man who runs the place, and the endless dusty boxes overflowing with stuff no one will ever claim, Duncan's just about had enough. Then he finds a little leather book. It's a diary filled with the dark and dirty secrets of a twisted mind, a serial killer stalking his prey in the subway. And Duncan can't make himself stop reading.

What would you do with a book like that? How far would you go to catch a madman?

And what if time was running out. . . .

This is the book that made me a fan of teen fiction. Edge of your seat suspense, this story would not be as great if the protagonist had been an adult. Extra points for Canadian content! Swift and engrossing, this is a great read.

Excellent well-crafted book. Would call it Hitchcockian in nature and suspenseful buildup.

This is an amazing book and I think it is the best of Graham McNamee. You guys have probably all noticed that the author writes the books's settings all in Toronto right?
Anyway and amazing book and I Highly recommend it.

Love this and others by Graham McNamee. Fast passed and well written. The kind of writing that makes you feel how hot it is in "The Jungle" during a summer heat wave. Just the right amount of creepy to keep these pages turning til the end.

An amazing thriller, that I literally couldn't put down. I personally have not read another book of its kind for the teenage audience.

Best subway related teen thriller ever!

A teen spends his summer working in the lost and found of the Toronto subway system. There he stumbles upon the journal of a would be serial killer and he decides to see what he can do about the situation. A good thriller, but I like McNamee's more recent book The Bonechiller much better.

Very well written.
Not only does it keep you on your feet with its fast paced writting, but also, it takes place in Toronto and Toronto's own subway systems which makes it all that much more thrilling!
This is a definite must read.

A fast-paced thriller, ACCELERATION is a can''t-put-it-down book. At his summer job in the Toronto Transit Commission''s subterranean lost and found department, Duncan comes across a disturbing journal that appears to contain a serial killer''s thoughts and plans. With lukewarm response from the police, Duncan decides to investigate on his own, and soon becomes thoroughly entangled in a race against time, to locate the author before he makes his writings reality.
