This is a awsome book that i am using for my High School IRB and it is a great book for a book report that you have to have either a foreign author or setting in another country.

Reading this book allows those of us that may not have or may not know someone in our present day wars some insight into the thoughts behind the events that have occurred in the last ten years with our American troops in the Eastern world. We read about the events, as we now know them, that occurred on September 11, 2001 and how America has responded from the point of view of the troops. This book offers readers a worth-while view of the events and offers insight, valuable information, and allows us to "see" the war from "inside" at the point of the war and how this war has an impact not just on the American troops, but troops of the Afghan people. In reading this book "Horse Soldiers" a sense of compassion and caring may come into your emotions and assist readers to understand a little more the mental & emotional toll of war.

Enjoyed this read I never knew the US soldier used horses in Afganistan and worked with allied forces. I felt I did get to know the soldiers that were in the book and cried when one was killed. The cruelty the taliban were to women and children awful.

Interesting read detailing our Special Forces operations in Northern Afghanistan in 2001. I remember reading about this at the time.

Sensitive and detailed portrayal of men at war, of a different kind.

If this was a novel, I would call it unbelievable and unrealistic. But it's true, and that makes it so much more interesting.

Very interesting read on the Special Forces (Army) Teams that deployed in Afghanistan after 9/11 to form a frienship with the Northern Alliance to fight against Al-Quaeda and the Taliban. It reads of more of a story form as oppossed to a textbook......highly reccomended.
