A thorough and well-written account of Putin's rise to power. There are no huge surprises in this account - but knowledgeable journalist Masha Gessen delivers the detailed story of Putin from his childhood in Leningrad through his presidency in 2012. This audiobook is also read very well - Justine Eyre switches effortlessly from English to Russian accents to make the dialogue come alive. Highly recommended!

Couldn't stand the narrator's nasally voice. I'll read the book instead.
