Neil Gaiman. Laura Lippman. Lee Child. These are just three of 18 superstar authors who provide fascinating, thrilling and utterly original perspectives on Sherlock Holmes in this one-of-a-kind book. These modern masters place the sleuth in suspenseful new situations, create characters that solve Holmesian mysteries, contemplate Holmes in his later years, fill gaps in the Sherlock Holmes canon and reveal their own personal obsessions with the infamous detective. It is the perfect tribute and a collection of twisting, clever studies of a timeless icon.

Anyone who loves Sherlock Holmes will surely enjoy this book! Filled with short stories, written by contemporary writers who were influenced by Holmes, it's a read to be savoured. Must admit to liking some stories much more than others, but that's the way of short stories, I think!

Anyone that enjoys Holmes stories will really like this book. All of the short story authors are famous in their own right, and the stories themselves are a delight.

Not your run-of-the-mill pastiche. Some truly interesting and inventive takes on the characters of Holmes and Watson and on Doyle's style. My favorite by far was Neil Gaiman's contribution.
