This Hans Christian Andersen fairytale is lovingly translated and beautifully illustrated in this Children's Picture Book (of the sort that parents read to their children.) I highly recommend this tale and this edition for adults as well as children. This story of an emperor who replaces his live nightingale with a bejeweled machine nightingale that sings perfectly but eventually breaks down resonates even more today with the virtual realities offered us. The poignant ending is very moving.
