As a dedicated fan of Pet Sounds I was numb with disappointment when I struggled to wade through this disc. Something gets horribly lost in the translation because it almost sounds like an ironic parody of Brian Wilson playing Gershwin music. This disc has a very high cringe factor - just awful by any measure. Sorry:-(

What a great list of songs. I have much better versions, although not all pulled together like this. Glad to see that BW has pulled himself out of his decades long funk. Don Maclean said of Bob Dylan that he had a voice that 'came from you and me'. Might have been our ideas but not our 'voice'. Brian's voice is much closer to ours, at least mine, being worn for age. Brian also put together some great images of our lives in the sixties and seventies, but here we get only the voice and the arrangements.
