I remember reading this book when it first came out and I absolutely loved it! Since I was younger when I first read this book, I thought that the plot line was scary yet intriguing at the same time. Now that I am older and have read it numerous times since, I agree that this book leans toward the genre of mystery rather than horror. The ending however always leaves me wanting more. I recall praying for a sequel when it first came out but since it has been 5 years now I doubt that will happen. I guess this is the sort of book that leaves you to create a story for the characters once it ends....... It was a great read nonetheless and I would highly recommend it!

Wasn't sure how much this book would be horror vs. mystery and it's definitely more mystery. Relies heavily on suspense and the unknown and does a great job with this. It's a really face read, but all the characters are well rounded and interesting. It's a real page turner, but when you get to the end you'll probably wishing there was something a little bit more.

I absoloutly loved this book! I'd give it 5 stars in a hearbeat. It had a few swears in it (more like several) and the plot line was scary, breath-taking and addictive. I could not put it down and I finished it in about 1 hour to 1:30.
The part around the end with Nico is still in my mind and still horrifys me. I love this book! :)

Such a good book! I didn't expect to like this book but once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I actually finished it in a couple of hours. The storyline is scary and even though you kind of guess what is going on right from the beginning, the outcome is just as shocking. SO GOOD! Anybody would enjoy reading this book.

McMann is back in excellent form. Great suspense with some fantasy thrown in.

I thought the writing of the author was similar to the Wake trilogy...and then I realized they were one and the same!

Cryer's Cross slaps down the scary factor fast, and leaves you breathless for more. It is insanely creepy, and I could not put it down.

Good stuff aside, the bad stuff: The characters are very similar to the characters from the Wake Trilogy. The relationship between the Kendall and Jacian was annoying, as they jumped from somewhat hating each other...to somewhat friends...then not. Then...yes?

The climax of the book was excellent though, and I thought this was an excellent book for those who want to get creeped out fast, unlike the Wake Trilogy, which drags it slowly.

Loved this YA book! The characters were realistic and the plot was just creepy enough to raise the hairs on the back of your neck!

This is a very great book! It is kinda slow moving in the begining but still the story is fantastic. This book is suspense filled but not at all scary. Creepy? Yes. But still a very interesting book. I like this kind of suspense filled slightly horror genre! Loved this book so much!
