I can't here what he is saying at all. Does have some immoral content. Not recommended.
Steve Earle's 14th album, produced by semi-legendary roots dude T-Bone Burnett. It avoids the preachiness of some of his more political work of the early 00s, but also veers into the maudlin ("God is God" and Tom Waits-y ("Meet Me in the Alleyway"). Since he's been on "Treme," he writes a song about New Orleans ("This City"). The title comes from Hank Williams and is also the title of a book Earle wrote around the same time.
A real return to form for Steve Earle, after a few weaker releases...
