Julia longs for freedom, but marries wealthy businessman Latham Miller to please her father. Latham soon proves possessive and controlling, and when Julia is reacquainted with troubled war hero Martin Lee-Trafford, the attraction between them grows to love. In order to enjoy a story it helps if you like at least one of the main characters. The heroine of this story is shallow and unbelievably stupid. The father suddenly changes from being wise and kind hearted to bullying his daughter into an act which causes her years of misery. The story line is not credible. I admit I skipped most of the second part of the book, and after looking at the final few pages I'm glad I did.
