A great album, but why does the sound quality of this cd sound so flat? Overly compressed loudness perhaps? These songs even sound more bouncy on the tv. The cd I've rented is covered with scratches, perhaps that's had an effect on the dynamic range. We can only hope. The thought that Universal Republic records might want it this way would be depressing.

I think Jessie J is a good singer. Here songs are catchy. I like her fast songs better than her slow ones. Overall a good CD.

To be honest, I was skeptical of Jessie J's "true talent." After hearing her song, Price Tag, I thought she was an okay singer and that her song was catchy. Then when I got the CD, I heard her song "Big White Room" and that was the first song that made me respect her as an artist. It is a beautiful song and it is a live version on the CD. Her vocal talents are amazing! Also, the lyrics were beautiful- they were deep and lyrics that can be personally interpreted. Then I heard her song "Who's Laughing Now" and I thought it was a brilliant song- it had a personal element to it where she talks about how she was made fun of and look who she became. Further, it is about how, now that she is famous, the people who made fun of her pretend like they are such close friends! I also really like the song "Stand Up," as it had a nice theme/message and it was catchy. The song "Who You Are" was also a really beautiful song. It celebrated the beauty in being unique and just yourself. The song "Abracadabra" was another good pop song.
