Tamara Drewe was an ugly duckling when she left town. Years later, she is a sexy swan who has returned to her hometown after the death of her mother. Her plans are to refurbish the family home and put it on the market. It isn't long before Tamara finds herself pursued by three men from her past: Andy, her former boyfriend, Ben, the drummer with a local rock band, and Nicholas, the boy she was infatuated with in her teens.

I was disappointed in this movie. My favourite characters were a couple of spunky tweens who are looking for some adventure.

A film with famous (and soon to be) people; based on a graphic novel; inspired by Thomas Hardy, A lovely romp, with every character being interesting.

I enjoyed this movie although it didn't take the normal route of American films. It keeps you guessing up to the end even though it's intent is to leave you smiling.Gemma Arterton is a physical marvel and a good actress, worth watching just for that.As has been said, quirky characters as only the British can do,but one young lady almost steals the show.Jessica Barden wants to meet her idol from a rock band any which way she can,and her efforts leave a path of destruction for all concerned.Rebellious youth at it's most incoherent.

This is one of the lesser films from UK director Stephen Frears. Silly characters and the lack of a strong plot make this film uninteresting and a tad boring.

A highly enjoyably comedy about a bunch of literary people and their various associates. These people really know how to mess up their lives. The story is compelling, even though it's unsurprising. The characters and the situations they create make all the humor, which is a credit to the writer and director. The acting is very good, too.

Cute movie, scenic views of English countryside.

A delightful little tale. And I'm not just talking about Tamara Drewe. I like this movie mainly because of it's connection with writing. And romance. 1st 8/11/11 @ 9:01a post overslept for work.
