Kristy, Ben and Liz are three friends in their twenties who set out to hike through the scenic Wolf Creek National Park in the Australian Outback. Trouble begins when they get back from their hike to find that their car won't start. The trio think they have a way out when they run into a friendly local bushman named Mick Taylor, but what Mick has in mind for them has nothing to do with friendliness. The trio discover that their real troubles have just begun.

Add a CommentThe first half of the movie is a complete waste of time. Friends going on a road trip, the guy figuring out which girl he's gonna hit on. Once the car breaks down, it's a 4-star horror. I rate it highly because the psycho villain is just charming in his creepy humor... and so clever, with all his survivalist skills, home-made traps, and his tourist-torture fetish. And because it's so realistic. This could happen to you. I've done a lot of off-road camping, and met some dudes like this (and kept my distance). It's also satisfying to anyone annoyed with spoiled, self-absorbed young people -- they get what's coming to them! The ending offers a slight twist on the slasher genre, gender-wise.
I am numb to horror flicks as they all seem to be the "same old, same old". This one was not bad. The Australian flavor/desolate Outback added a little something to the normal humdrum routine.
It really sucked, this is a slightly different version of "The Hills Have Eyes" but not by far. Couldnt finish it.
