This is a 1989 American documentary directed by Michael Moore.
The film shows the negative economic impacts of General Motors CEO Roger Smith's action of closing several auto plants in Flint, Michigan.
At the time 30,000 people lost their jobs.
In 2013 the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
Yes, it's worthwhile watching for you to understand that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

See the blueprint for many of Moore's later films in the way this movie was made. I have been meaning to watch this movie for YEARS. I wonder what Moore thinks of it now. In my opinion, you could simply just change the name Flint, Michigan and insert DETROIT. Really neat to ponder how things turned out in the 25+ years since Moore made this movie AND THE SAME SHELL GAME IS STILL BEING PLAYED. Glad I watched Moore's perspective........
