Clarice Bean loves to read, specifically the Ruby Redford mysteries. So when her teacher announces the author's fair, Clarice, along with her best friend, Betty Moody, plan to do their project on Ruby. But her teacher feels that this is not real literature, throwing a series of obstacles in their path. Then the school's Author Fair trophy goes missing. Can Clarice use what she's learned from Ruby Redford to solve the mystery.

A silly, wonderful chapter book that brings the picture book heroine into novel format. Fun for the beginning reader.
