"Ordeal By Innocence" is a decent Agatha Christie novel with enough interesting characters and a good twist finale to make it worth reading. The more psychological themes are good, but the story kind of felt humorless and sometimes the story drags. Overall, the book is pretty good considering it came late during Christie's career, which had some pretty lame books during that time. A boom worth reading for fans of mystery novels.

Another great mystery. No Poirot or Miss Marple in sight.

Interesting premise - someone in the family might have done it. How everyone deals with that possibility and tries to keep the family together was interesting.
Dr. Calgary is a better man than most.

Another without Christie's trademark detectives, but still definitely worth reading. The premise is a bit thin. A scientist was so isolated, in Antarctica, and with a case of "partial amnesia," that he didn't know he could provide an airtight alibi for a convicted murderer, who has since died in prison, until his return. Yet Christie makes the most of this premise. Her Dr. Calgary believes Jacko's family will be so relieved to learn that he's innocent, that he doesn't realize that the question will again be raised of who, then, did commit the murder. The playing out of that question is a fascinating psychological story, especially as Dr. Calgary believes it's his responsibility to help solve the puzzle.

Good book! The killer was one of my suspects, although I didn't know the motive, of course. haha The very end of the book had a surprise that was kind of shocking to me and sad in a way.

It is not justice that matters but what happens to the innocent.

"The finest system in the world can make a mistake. Justice is, after all, in the hands of men, and men are fallible." Loved that quote. So true.

It's been 2 years since the vicious murder of Mrs. Argyle.. a woman who couldn't have any children of her own, so she and her husband adopted many unwanted or orphan children. She was very protective of them and lavished them with all the luxuries. But is there such a thing as too much love? How much will they stand before they lash out? The police thought they had caught the murderer, and he had died in prison. But two years later a man comes to confirm the supposed killer's alibi. Will they figure out who the real killer was after all this time? And how could they find any evidence to prove it?
