Add a CommentGood action "shoot em up" flick. Certainly many of the scenes were not realistic, but you can watch the news for realism.
people seem to forget that Gene Hackman is in this movie - and in fact the play between him and Owen Wilson is what makes the movie work so well.
Behind Enemy Lines and dts is HOMETHEATER at it's best. I really enjoyed this movie and the sound it contains. I liked 3 scenes for audio and video. By far one of my favorite is when the pilots are flying over territory that were told not to fly over and is suddenly attacked by missles. I really like the sound and visuals of the jet and the pursuing missles. The scene where the missle is close to the jet, it arms itself, i believe, and moves in for a hit. Looks and sounds very cool. I also like the scene when Wilson tells the pilot to take a hard right as the missle follows. The sound and visual is very nice. Another favorite is when the surviving pilot, Wilson, is looking at a man and child outside a factory. After the man and child leave, our hero walks the same route and see cables attached to land mines everywhere. Some of the bad guys see him and open fire with machineguns. The sound of the land mines expolding as Wilson runs for cover is visualy stunning. And finally, perhaps my favorite, is the huge chase scene. This happens when a small army of bad guys sees that one of the pilots is still alive and give chase. These soilders fire everything they have after the pilot while he runs for his life through the forest. The sounds of rockets exploding and bullets zipping passed Wilson is "Sound Freak" approved!!!. But i should not forget about the story and the characters that makes this a very good movie. I'm giving this film 4 stars. A good story, and very good sound and visual effects. Sausage links on whole wheat bread with grape jelly and hot chocolate.
Not a fan of Owen Wilson but this movie is totally enjoyable.
Owen Wilson's often annoying neurotism works perfectly in this film. Great cinematography.
