Enjoyable, not realistic. He looked physically healthy for the first 4 yrs.
Tom Hanks on an island!
The production values are good but the story rather sappy and predicable; the worst part of the movie is the syrupy violins that make their cliched appearances in the last part of the movie.
2007 version of Robinson Crusoe. I love the character of Wilson in the movie and the acting performance of Tom Hanks.
good for entertainment - nothing more
on internet is common question - is that based on real events?
the answer is : no
however helplessness of the cast away and issue you could experience (fire, drinking water as the neccessities) are real
This is a 2000 American survival drama directed and produced by Robert Zemeckis.
The film depicts a FedEx employee stranded on an uninhabited island after his plane crashes in the South Pacific and his Robinsonade attempts to survive on the island using remnants of his plane's cargo.
The first half is so dull and easily foreseen that I fast-forwarded it.
In the last half, I can see that love is really fragile.
After all it was made in America.
If it was made in Asia, Kelly might have been unmarried to remain faithful to Chuck.
Tom Hanks is one of my favorite actors and he always delivers. Great film. Has it all, action suspense and humor.
hanks is great though the plot is not. worth watching
EXCELLENT STORY OF ONE MAN"S SURVIVAL OF 4 YEARS ON A UNINHABITED ISLAND.
ENDING IS VERY SAD. HANKS AND HUNT WERE GOOD TOGETHER. SEEN THIS MOVIE TWICE, NEVER BORING!!!!!!!!!
THE SPECIAL FEATURES WERE INTERESTING, BUT 2 HOURS WAY TOO LONG, TOO MUCH DETAIL AND COMMENTS FROM PRODUCERS AND DIRECTORS.
I've seen the movie twice now, first shortly after it was released, then recently on Netflix. Both times I was impressed with the job performed by the entire film making staff. The story has been done so many times [from Robinson Crusoe onward] it must have been a challenge to keep it from being hackneyed. They succeeded.
