The second album (cleverly called "II") from party rock band Van Halen. The appeal of Van Halen (at least to a general audience) was the combination or contrast between the showy guitar pyrotechnics of Eddie Van Halen and the spandex-clad, over the top antics of frontman/joker David Lee Roth. Van Halen's guitar playing made sure music nerds would take them seriously, while Roth gave them a much needed sense of humor. The big song from this album is "Dance the Night Away," which shows that they were almost a better pop band than hard rock band. The rest of the songs are mostly about girls: "Bottoms Up!", "Beautiful Girls," Women in Love." Regrettably, the latter is not inspired by D.H. Lawrence. "Spanish Fly" is the a solo guitar instrumental. Followed by "Women and Children First."
