I was very disappointed in this "Rizzoli & Isles" book. Maura Isles was in the book for about 5 minutes. It was Rizzoli and Rizzoli. Then I thought the idea of an "ape man" killer was stupid and unnecessary. Kristi & Abby Tabby

Gerritsen is an expert in building complex, multi-layered plots, and this novel is no exception. I had pieces of each of the two puzzles figured out but the other pieces were a fair twist. When thinking, the clues were subtle and made…

This was my 2nd time reading Garritsen. It was addicting. It had a level of spookiness that the other book did not, which I loved. Keeps you guessing until the very end. I've ordered many more of her books as I enjoy them so much! This is…

Love a good detective story

I thoroughly enjoyed this Rizzoli & Isles effort. This was a nice tie-in to the 2010 book, Ice Cold, that I wasn't too crazy about. I liked the Chinese folklore entertwined, the fact that it was moving between two crime scenes - one from…

Another well written thriller with disappearing teenage girls, Chinese legends and a mystical sword. The story blends two mysteries, one 19 years old and the other in the present time. Lots of tension and suspense and a good satisfactory…

I love Tess Gerritsen's books and this book did not disappoint. I couldn't put it down. I found it very interesting with some historical Chinese folk lore. I was very surprised with the ending.

I love the series but this wasn't my favorite.

Have read almost all of her books, this is by far the best one. Leaves some of the creepiness behind for great traditional Pacific-Asian fairytale-like stories, characters, history and insight into Chinese culture.

Mysery about a Medical Examiner and a Detective who come upon a grisly murder committed on a rooftop in chinatown and come upon clues leading to the killing of several young girls and avenging assasins infused around ancient folklore.…

Certainly recommend this for a great read. Totally enjoyed it. A satisfying epilogue for once.

Terrible! I'm a fan of this author's books, but this was atrocious. 10 chapters was 10 too many.

One of my favourite books in ages. Used to read Gerritsen years ago. I love the TV show now so thought it was time to revist the books. Almost had to put my life on hold for the few days it took me to read this. Was kept guessing right…

This is Gerritsen at her very best. Very entertaining, difficult to put down, and although it continues a saga with known characters, the book stands alone without a problem

Same old, same old. Formulaic "thriller" with professional women as the primary characters.

Gerritsen is a terrific writer and The Silent Girl was the perfect antidote while I was battling a nasty cold. The Chinese legends mixed with modern day myths while Rizzoli tries to solve a new murder interwoven with old ones captivated…

Average to below average. Thought this would have extra spark because of the author's & the setting's shared Asian background, but no. Read Henry Chang's Chinatown Beat instead.

It's been some time since I've read her books. This one exceeded all my expectations - a mix of legal and oriental history make this an excellent and non-stop, page-turning read!

This is the second Gerritsen novel I have read. What a contrast it is to her novel, "Whistleblower". I much preferred "SIlent Girl" and thus will read other Rizzoli novels.

The tenth book in this stellar series and Tess Gerritsen is still able to write characters that pop! While not the best of the series, this book still deserves a look. As with her other books, Gerritsen weaves an intriguing mystery that…

The book had a good feeling for me because I related to the culture of the book and the background. I enjoyed the simplicity of the main characters, the complexity of some of the side characters, and it was an overall easy read. I didn't…

I loved this mystery in the Rizzoli and Isles series. This is one in which Jane Rizzoli takes center stage and it is very interesting. I enjoyed the use of Chinese mythology in the story. The mystery proves to be a tough one to crack ad…

I loved this book!! Although it is different than all other Rizzoli/Iles novel, I thought that it was a great change, the mixture of the old and the new. Loved the fable combination with the real life. Its good to have something that…
